107 new Govt cases in Delhi, maximum in 6 months; 1st death in 10 days

More than a hundred cases of corona virus have been reported in Delhi today in 24 hours – the highest daily increase in almost six months. On June 25, 115 cases were registered in a single day in the national capital. As the total number of patients affected by the latest variant of the corona virus rose from 12 to 22 on Friday, an increase in cases is being recorded in Delhi amid fears of Omigron.

Today, with 107 new cases, a related death has been reported in the city – for the first time in 10 days. So far 25,101 Govt patients have died in Delhi.

The national capital’s case positivity rate is now 0.17% – gradually rising from yesterday’s 0.13%. On Wednesday, 57 cases were registered in Delhi with a positive rate of 0.10 per cent, according to the Health Bulletin.

Of the 540 active Govt-19 patients currently in Delhi, 255 are home-isolated.

The number of Govt cases registered so far in Delhi is 14,42,197. With 50 people discharged in the last 24 hours, more than 14.16 lakh patients have recovered from the disease.

Three deaths due to Govt have been reported in Delhi so far in December. Seven Covid-19 deaths were reported in November, four in October and five in September.

According to the health report, the positive rate for the case was 0.13 percent on Saturday. On Wednesday, 57 cases were registered in Delhi with a positive rate of 0.10 per cent.

A total of 61,905 trials – 57,435 RT-PCR and 4,470 Rapid antigen trials – were conducted in 24 hours, according to the bulletin.

Currently, there are 157 control zones across the city – up from 153 yesterday.
