2 monkeys caught in retaliation for 250 dogs in Maharashtra: Report

The monkeys are left in the nearby forest.

New Delhi:

In a bizarre incident, two monkeys were caught killing nearly 250 dogs in a village in Maharashtra. The news agency ANI reported that the killings were in retaliation for the killing of a baby monkey by dogs in the area.

“Two monkeys involved in the killing of several puppies have been caught by the Nagpur Forest Department team in Beed,” Beat Forest Officer Sachin Kant told ANI.

The monkeys are transferred to Nagpur and left in the nearby forest.

Locals said monkeys have been killing puppies in the village of Laul for the past two months. As soon as they see the puppy they will grab it and carry it to a higher place. Then the dog will be thrown from there.

According to ANI, villagers have contacted the Tharoor Forest Department after monkeys attacked some school-going children.

This strange incident not only created a stir among the villagers and officials but also created meme creators on social media.

Those on social media seem to be sidelining the ‘monkey vs dogs gang war’.

Some users were concerned about the brutal conflict between the animals.

“This #MonkeyVsDoge story is very disturbing, I have to say,” actor Ranveer Shorey tweeted.
