New Delhi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today laid the foundation stone for the Noida International Airport, in his first public appearance in western UP, where three farm laws – which sparked violent protests across the country – especially in this part of the state where elections are being held – were removed.

“Farmers in the region can export their vegetables, fruits and produce directly to the world,” the Prime Minister said on a platform surrounded by thousands of people, acres of villages, small towns and farms.

“There are many industrial areas like Aligarh, Mathura, Meerut, Agra, Bijnor, Moradabad and Bareilly. Western Uttar Pradesh also plays a significant role in the agricultural sector. Now the power of these areas will increase a lot.” he said.

Farmers across the country have been fighting for almost 15 months against laws that claim to leave them at the mercy of corporates and rob them of the price guarantee scheme. Many are from western UP, and opposition parties have questioned the timing of the federal government’s decision.

In light of those polls, the party has had some success — including a convoy of vehicles led by the Union minister’s son that hit more than four farmers, and the state handled the Govt epidemic – underscoring the benefits farmers can expect. From Noida Airport.

“Thousands of jobs are being created during the construction of the airport. Thousands of people are needed for the airport to run smoothly. This airport will provide new employment to thousands of people in western UP,” he said.
