After losing the ODI and a Test match, India’s T20 captain Harmanpreet Kaur again promised to make it all out in the three – match series against Australia. India lost the three-match ODI series 1-2 to level the historic Pink Ball Test. But Harmanpreet missed both ODIs and Tests due to a thumb injury and has now recovered and wanted to draw the curtains on the tour with a rare series win.
“It is unfortunate I missed the ODIs and Tests but if there were more days between the ODIs and the Tests I could have recovered and played. But it is now over,” said Harmanpreet. Thursday
“We want to go all out now and win the series at any cost. All three of these matches are very important to us.”
Harmanpreet said getting the opportunity to play in all three formats during a tour is a big sign for women’s cricket as a whole.
“Previously we mostly played in ODIs and T20s, but now we get the opportunity to play all three formats in our favor. I think everyone should have equal opportunity,” he said.
“We played against South Africa and England almost a year before this series but I can say that we are in a better position now. Playing cricket again and again helps the team progress in all fields.”
Harmanpreet said it was difficult for any player to play cricket in the midst of an epidemic.
“For the past one year we have not been able to play cricket and then we had the opportunity. But spending time with friends and family and following all the rules and regulations and living in life bubbles was hard. But that’s how it is,” she said.
