Cristiano Ronaldo made his 181st international appearance as Portugal beat World Cup winners Qatar 3-0 in a friendly on Saturday. The Manchester United star surpassed Sergio Ramos, who has played 180 times for Spain, as the highest capped international for a European country. Ronaldo added the second three minutes of the second half through Jose Fonte in the 37th minute. RP Leipzig striker Andre Silva scored in the last minute of the match.
Portugal resume their World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday as they host Luxembourg.
They are currently second in Group A, one point ahead of Serbia but with one game in hand.
