Elon Musk says he is dying to build supersonic electric jets using VTOL technology



After creating electric cars and trucks and transforming space exploration, billionaire Elon Musk seems to be keeping his eyes on the vertical elevator electric planes. He said he was “dying” to build electric supersonic jets using vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) technology. This should come as no surprise, as Musk is known for making unusual decisions that may seem strange at first. He expressed his desire to enter or disrupt the aviation industry in response to businessman-writer Peter H. Diamondis, who asked his followers what Tesla and the CEO of SpaceX would like to deal with “next”.

When Musk first talked about electric cars, many people did not believe in their potential because of the challenges of technology and business. Then Tesla happened. He created reusable rockets and disrupted space exploration with SpaceX.

“Elon Musk has been instrumental in transforming payments, space exploration, cars and green energy adoption. Which sector does he want to tackle next? My preference is aviation … what is yours?” Said Diamondis, founder of the XPRIZE Foundation.

Although Musk responded with his electric plane pitch, he added that adding more work using emojis to the last two words would “make my brain explode”.

In addition to heading billions of companies such as Tesla and SpaceX, Musk founded the start-up neural connection, which builds compatible brain-engine interfaces and The Boring Company, an attempt to dig a tunnel. He is the co-founder of OpenAI, an artificial intelligence research laboratory. Other than that, he often explores issues related to the crypto industry through his Twitter account. Through SpaceX, Musk has stated that he wants to colonize Mars and create humans into “multiple planets”.

This is not the first time Musk has shown interest in electric aircraft. In July, he issued a similar statement.

Before that, on Joe Rogan’s podcast in 2018, Musk said he had great ideas on how to create electric VTOLs.
