Four sandalwood trees were stolen from a security area in Pune camp



In a recent sandalwood theft incident, four sandalwood trees were cut down and stolen from a garrison engineer’s (northern) residence in the Pune camp area. Police said theft had taken place at the security ground and an investigation was underway. An FIR has been registered at the Pankorton police station in this regard.

According to a police statement, unidentified individuals broke through the barbed wire fence on the night of October 1 and October 2 and entered the quarters. They allegedly cut down four sandalwood trees using sharp knives and escaped with timber worth Rs 8,000.

4 sandalwood trees were recently stolen on the night of September 11 and September 12 from the SRPF Group-2 premises. In another incident, two similar sandalwood trees were stolen from the depot premises of the Armed Forces on the night between September 26 and September 27 on Koyaji Road, located within the boundaries of the Vanavadi Police Station.
