Gold and silver prices today: Gold and silver prices fell slightly on Tuesday amid limited trade in international markets. Gold futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange fell 0.4 per cent to Rs. 46,702 intraday low. In the spot market, 24 carat pure gold is priced at Rs. 46,390 and 22 carat gold at Rs. 45,280, 18 carat gold for Rs. 37,580 and 14 carat for Rs. 29,920. Per 10 grams according to India Bullion & Jewelers Association (IBJA).
The country’s gold imports soared in September due to lower prices at the start of the festive season. India imported 91 tonnes of gold in September, compared to 12 tonnes a year ago, the news agency Reuters quoted an unnamed source.
In international markets, gold prices locked in a tight range at $ 1,763 an ounce, the highest level since Monday, September 23.
