US Vendra Sahal has been in a role since the start of the UAE leg of the Indian Premier League. The leg-spinner has responded to the unnoticed disappointment of the national selectors at the ICC T20 World Cup, with his team creating some useful mantras for Royal Challengers Bangalore and playing a key role in their play-off qualification. Sahal finished the team match with 16 wickets in 14 matches, in which he took 11 wickets in 7 matches in the UAE. Apart from taking wickets, Sahil returned to his best.

Indian selectors have until Sunday to make changes to the final squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup, and many have backed the leg-spinner to make the Indian squad for the Showpieces. Sahal recently discovered the support of senior Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh, who wrote on Twitter that he would look for Sahal in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup.

Now, former England spinner Graeme Swann has also praised Sahal’s efforts in the United Arab Emirates. Swann, speaking on the live show of the host broadcaster Star Sports’ Select Dugout, said he did not want to be part of the English team playing against the Indian team in Sahil.

“UC Sahal has bowled beautifully since RCB’s return to the UAE – the IPL is back in the UAE. “Swann said.

Sahal has taken 63 wickets in 49 T20 matches for India. He has taken 97 wickets in 56 ODIs for the national team. His last tour in national colors was a limited-overs tour of India and Sri Lanka earlier this year.
