Approximately 8.5 lakh beneficiaries have not yet received the first jab of the Govt-19 vaccine in Pune district. 3.5 lakh of them are in Pune. Efforts are being made to reach the maximum number of beneficiaries as part of the special weekly vaccination drive Mission Armor Kundal.
Dr. Sanjay Deshmukh, Assistant Health Officer, Pune Circle, covering Pune, Satara and Solapur districts, told The Indian Express that the first dose was given to 73.97 lakh beneficiaries in Pune district. Of these, 37.48 lakh people have been fully vaccinated. The total number of eligible beneficiaries in the district is 82.4 lakh.
“We plan to insure at least 92,000 to one lakh beneficiaries daily as part of this state-wide special operation,” Dr Deshmukh said. The project is planned to fulfill the centre’s target of 100 crore vaccines. On Sunday, the district was able to deliver 92,000 vaccines, health officials said.
Pune city vaccination officer Dr Suryakant Deogar said all the 200 vaccination centers were fully operational and planned to reach the maximum number of beneficiaries on Tuesday. The target for eligible beneficiaries in Pune city is around 33-34 lakh, of which 30 lakh were given the first dose of the Govit-19 vaccine. Of these, 16 lakh people have been fully vaccinated, ”said Dr Deogar.
Residents of nearby areas like Pimpri-Chinchwad and Rajgurunagar have also been vaccinated from Pune city as the registration was online, health officials said.
In Satara, 18.53 lakh beneficiaries have received the first dose of the vaccine and 7.76 lakh of the 22 lakh eligible beneficiaries have been fully vaccinated. Of the 34 lakh beneficiaries in Solapur, 18.72 lakh have received the first dose and 5.86 lakh have been fully vaccinated.
Dr Deshmukh said they were vaccinating at home and would approach elderly and vulnerable groups who could not yet report to vaccination centers.
