India has reported 7,081 new COVID-19 cases and 264 deaths in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Sunday. The country’s active cassette is currently at 83,913, the lowest in 570 days.
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), the number of active cases in the country is less than 1 per cent of the total cases, which is currently 0.24 per cent, the lowest since March last year.
According to the ministry, a total of 12,11,977 tests have been conducted in India in the last 24 hours. “India has so far conducted a total of 66.41 crore (66,41,09,365) tests.”

Assam recorded two deaths due to COVID-19 on Sunday, and 75 people tested positive for the infection, raising the total number of cases to 6,19,492, according to the National Health Movement (NHM).
The total number of COVID-19 deaths has risen to 6,147, with one death each in the Kamrup metropolitan and Sonitpur districts.
The NHM said a further 1,347 Govt-19 patients had died so far, but the government’s death audit board did not include them in deaths caused by the COVID-19 virus because they had other illnesses as well.
