Kolkata Knight Riders beat defending champions Mumbai Indians by virtually 86 runs in the 54th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 in Sharjah on Thursday by a huge margin. With this massive win, the Eoin-Morgan-led team is almost certain to finish fourth with a net run rate of +0.587. The draw for the five-time IPL champions is to win by 171 runs and qualify for the next round, with Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai bowling first and they will officially be out of the playoffs.

Chennai Super Kings lost to Punjab Kings in the first match of the doubles title on Thursday as Delhi Capitals took the top two spots. The team led by Rishabh Bandh will be at the top of the table.
CSK are currently second on the list and Royal Challengers Bangalore are third. KKR is sure to finish fourth and advance to the playoffs.

Rudraj Kejriwal, who lost by bat against PBKS, is third with 533 runs. Behind him is Shikhar Dhawan of Delhi Capitals with 501 runs.
Herschelle Patel took three wickets on Wednesday, taking the lead as the leading wicket-taker this season. The RCB fast bowler has taken 29 wickets in 13 matches in IPL 2021.
Avishkon (22) of Derby Capitals is seven wickets behind Herschel in the Purple Cape race. India’s leading batsman Jaspreet Bhumra is third with 19 wickets in 13 matches. All three players will have the opportunity to extend their wicket tally on the final day of the IPL 2021 league.
