Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday said West Indies player Sherban Rutherford will leave the IPL survival bubble in the United Arab Emirates to be with his family after the death of his father.

The IPL team took to Twitter to offer their condolences to the cricketer and his family.

“The #SRH family expresses its heartfelt condolences on the death of Sherbane Rutherford and his family.”

Rutherford, from Guyana, was replaced by the Hyderabad-based owner after England’s Johnny Bairstow chose to withdraw from the lucrative UAE football tournament for personal reasons.

The 23-year-old left-hander, who was part of the Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians team before the IPL, showed good form in the recently concluded Caribbean Premier League.
