During New Zealand’s first innings of the first Test of the two-match series at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, Indian cricketer Akshar Patel took his fifth five-wicket haul in the longest form of the game on Saturday. The 27-year-old helped India beat New Zealand by 296 runs in the third innings to take a 49-run lead in the first innings. The all-rounder received a lot of praise from the cricket fraternity for his exploits against the Black Caps. However, amidst all the praise, former Indian batsman Wasim Jaffer made a hilarious comment about Akshar after the third day stumps.
On Twitter, Jaffer, who is known for his humor on social media, trolled Akshar for making “the only mistake”.
Jaffer took five wickets when Akshar pointed out an incorrect date when he signed the ball.
“The only mistake Akshar Patel made today was to put the wrong date on the match ball. 27 November hai bapu @ akshar2026” Jaffer wrote on Twitter.
Responding to the tweet, Akshar clarified that it was Suryakumar Yadav who put the wrong date on the ball.
“This is not me … @ surya_14kumar wrote this!” Akshar replied.

However, the mockery continued when Jaffer suggested a hilarious sentence for the Indian batsman.
“Oh, then what’s the punishment for @ surya_14 son? Stand in front of the wall?” Jaffer added.

Suryakumar also joined the party as he responded with a cheek.
“I do it every day,” he said.
