Rishabh Bandh was emotional after the Delhi Capitals lost to the Kolkata Knight Riders in the second qualifier of the Indian Premier League on Wednesday. After scoring only 135/5, the Delhi Capitals bowlers kept their team on the hunt with regular attacks at the end of the KKR chase. KKR lost six wickets for 7 runs in three overs as the match went to the final six balls. Rahul Tripathi Ravichandran Ashwin hit a six to beat KKR in the final. After the match, tired Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Bandh said his side did not stop believing and tried to stay in the match as much as possible.
“Nothing could change after the match. We were always confident, we were in the game as much as possible. The bowlers got it back. They threw the ball well through the middle overs. We got stuck and could not spin the strike,” Bandh said in a post-match presentation.
Bandh said they want to be strong and forward next season and change their fortunes.
“We hope to return to the net year for a strong season. We played good cricket throughout the season. We stuck together and cared for each other. Next year we will be strong going forward,” Bandh concluded.
In this match, Delhi Capitals managed only 135 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs.
In response, despite the dramatic hiccups, KKR was able to seal a place in the IPL 2021 finals.
The two-time champions will now face MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings in the T20 League final in Dubai on Friday.
