Rahul Dravid led Rajasthan Royals in his final T20 match.. Instagram
On the same day eight years ago, master blaster Sachin Tendulkar wore the Mumbai Indians in the final. Interestingly, this match is Rahul Dravid’s last appearance for the Rajasthan Royals. Led by Rohit Sharma, Tendulkar played in the Champions League T20 final against Rajasthan Royals. Tendulkar nodded as the Mumbai Indians beat the Royals by 33 runs to win the title at the summit.
Batting first, Mumbai Indians scored 202/6 in the allotted 20 overs, with Dwayne Smith top-scoring with 44.
Tendulkar was able to score only 15 runs while Glenn Maxwell scored 37 off 14 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes.
Rajasthan Royals were unable to chase the target and the team was bowled out for 169 runs. Harbhajan Singh returned to Mumbai with four wickets in hand and he was selected as the man of the match.
Tendulkar is currently the mentor of the Mumbai Indians and the head of the Dravid National Cricket Academy (NCA). Dravid had coached the Indian team for the series against Sri Lanka earlier this year.
