The OnePlus 9RT is expected to launch in China next week, sooner or later, in India as well. The new phone is the only D-Series device we will receive this year as OnePlus closed all rumors about the 9D and 9D Pro last month.
However, with the 9RT coming a few months after the OnePlus 9R, what exactly does the brand put on the table? Also, what can users expect at the forefront of software through the brand’s current partnership with Oppo? We will try to answer these questions today.
Design and display: Thanks to the leaked poster, we know what the OnePlus 9RT looks like and it is expected to have the same design as the other OnePlus phones in the 9 Series. Aside from a slight difference in the camera module design (thanks to the new possible lenses) we see some new colors and the look of the phone may not be very different. The phone is expected to feature a 120Hz AMOLED panel similar to the 9R.
Specifications: The biggest change in the phone may come under the hood, where the OnePlus 9RT is expected to feature a Snapdragon 888 chip, which is recommended by both Geekbench scores and the new poster. The same chipset that runs the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro is Snapdragon 888, a more powerful offering than the Snapdragon 870 that powers the OnePlus 9R.

Slightly faster LPDTR5 RAM with UFS 3.1 storage is expected, as was the case with the OnePlus 9R. The new phone is expected to carry the same 4,500mAh battery as the Warp Charger 65T.
Photo Tool: The OnePlus 9RT is expected to include a new 50MP main camera sensor, the same sensor used on the OnePlus Nord 2 launched earlier this year. The new sensor can provide slightly improved performance over the old 48MP main sensor in the OnePlus 9R. However, not much is known about the other lenses in the system.
Software: The OnePlus 9 Series was the last OnePlus device, and the brand decided to integrate its software front with Oppo. The OnePlus Nord 2 came with many color OS components that OxygenOS users could instantly see, so the decision was made on the next phone. This includes some pages in the camera interface and settings application.
With the OnePlus 9RT, things are not expected to be so different. In China, the phone is expected to be introduced with ColorOS by default, where if the phone comes to other markets like India, it will have OxygenOS-ColorOS hybrid software like OnePlus Nord2. All OnePlus phones will move to the brand’s integrated OS next year.
The OnePlus 9RT is expected to launch in China on October 13 and is expected to arrive in India soon. We need to have India-specific details close to the actual release.
