Oppo ColorOS 12 Global Version Redesigned UI, Enhanced Privacy Launch: Release Plan, Changes, Features



Oppo on Monday unveiled the global version of its Android 12-based custom ROM, ColorOS 12, after first releasing the China-specific version in September. With this announcement, the company has unveiled Oppo’s new operating system (OS) in India in November, and has unveiled other detailed release plans. ColorOS 12 adds support for 54 other languages ​​along with 13 major Indian languages. Oppo notes that it has integrated stock-based Android-based features such as Android 12-based OS Material U. The Oppo Find X3 Pro will be the first smartphone to receive the ColorOS 12 public beta update. The new OS includes a number of privacy, security and production features, along with a redesigned User Interface (UI).

ColorOS 12 Global Edition Release Schedule

The worldwide version of Android 12 based ColorOS 12 will be released for Oppo and OnePlus. It will first pave the way for a public beta update for Oppo Find X3 Pro users in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. Oppo has released the release schedule for the global version of the new OS and the general beta update indicates that it will reach India next month – the Oppo Renault 6, Oppo Renault 6 Pro and Oppo Renault 6 Pro launch in Diwali version. The remaining devices and markets will receive updates in the second half of 2022. Oppo plans to launch the new ColorOS for 110 Colors and 150 million users.

Features the global version of ColorOS 12

The global version of Oppo’s ColorOS 12 is built on top of Oppo’s infinite design concept and features smooth icons and animations. It also integrates Android 12’s wallpaper based theme system with Material U. Oppo has also added App Cloner with the latest version of ColorOS. Oppo claims to have made ColorOS 12 even more developer-friendly by adding free camera STKs that include ultra study video shooting, HDR, super wide-angle and more. In addition, it has become more developer friendly with its hyperboost and color vision improvement.

Privacy and security features have also been improved with ColorOS 12. It gets privacy dashboards, approximate location sharing and microphone and camera indicators. In addition, ColorOS 12 maintains Oppo’s privacy, privacy, application lock and many other privacy features. Oppo further states that its privacy features are ePrivacy and ISO27001 certified.

Also, the global version of ColorOS 12 gets a three-finger translation feature for Google Lens and a phone manager to increase productivity. Oppo’s new OS has an average of 30 percent and 20 percent less memory and battery consumption, respectively. Oppo’s new OS now has a system aging rate of 2.75 percent.

The original China-specific ColorOS 12 was first announced with a release schedule in September, often with the same features. It gets quick display cards and new shortcuts, including one click to switch to a smaller window, double click to switch to fullscreen and the ability to adjust the size of the floating window. It comes with a new 3D avatar feature called Omoji.
