PUBG: Battlegrounds developer Krafton announced last week that the game will be free to play. In January 2022, the Royal Game of War will switch to a free-to-play model. The announcement was made during The Game Awards 2021 event. Many existing PUBG: War veterans who bought the game on various platforms were worried about how their purchase would be offset. Krafton has announced a new Battlegrounds Plus “upgrade” that brings additional benefits and existing PUBG players: Battlegrounds will receive this update for free.
PUBG: Developer Krafton Battlegrounds Plus will offer a free upgrade of $ 12.99 (approximately Rs. 990) as compensation for players who purchase Battlegrounds. Battlegrounds Plus will receive Captain ‘Camo Hat, Captain’s Camo Mask, Captain’s Camo Gloves and an additional 1,300 G-Coins (in-game currency). This update opens access to Survival Mastery XP with 100% motivation, as well as the ability to create and play medal tape, ranked mode and custom competition in the career. For regular players, Battlegrounds Plus can be purchased once.
In addition to the above benefits, existing players will receive combat-stiffened legacy corset, combat-stiffened legacy jacket, combat-stiffened legacy gloves, combat-stiffened legacy pants and combat-stiffened legacy boots. In addition, PUBG: Battlegrounds will offer its current players the Shackle & Shanks Legacy Pan and the war-hardened Legacy nameplate.
PUBG: Once Battlegrounds becomes its free-to-play model all these benefits will be rewarded to the players after the first login. The benefits can also be found under the Customize Utility tab.
Krafton announced earlier this month that PUBG: Battlegrounds will become a free-to-play model on January 12, 2022. The game is free to download and play, but the free players are limited to certain items and game modes. These restricted features will be unlocked as soon as players purchase the Battlegrounds Plus update mentioned above. In addition, Crafton has announced three promotional events as the free-to-play-change date approaches.
