Freight load of Indian Railways has increased by 3.6 per cent in September 2021.
In addition, with the loading of freight in September 2021, the Railways will be able to raise Rs. 10,815 crore, up 9 per cent from Rs 9,905 crore in the same period last year.
Of the 106 million tonnes of freight loaded by Indian Railways in September 2021, coal accounts for the bulk of the total freight load as 47 million tonnes of dry fuel.
It was followed by iron ore (11 million tonnes), food grains (6.4 million tonnes), cement (6.1 million tonnes), fertilizers (4.1 million tonnes) and 3.6 million tonnes of mineral oils.
