Over the years, Realmy has been able to install its smartphones at different price points, and has increased offers in other segments as well. The company has now entered the laptop market in India with the new Realme Book Slim. Looking at the specifications sheet, you may think that there is an impressive set of features of the laptop, but the real question is how can Realme Book Slim be in daily use? We reviewed it to find out.

Realme Book Slim Review Price in India: Rs. 40,999

Realme Book Slim Specifications: 11th Gen Intel Core i3 | 2K display | Backlight keyboard | Windows 10 | HD Camera | 256GB SSD storage | Dual speakers

Realme Book Slim Review: Design, Display, Create

The RealMe Book is similar to the Slim MacBook and has better build quality. With the lid and deck made of aluminum alloy, the device feels very solid and premium. Unlike some laptops that offer a plastic structure (under the Rs 50,000 price range), the Realme Book Slim is not brittle. It is thinner and much lighter than the MacBook Air. One can easily carry. The lid can be tilted 180 degrees backwards so you have good flexibility in what position to use the laptop.

The variation we got for review is “Real Blue” which looks unique and attractive because you don’t often see this color except black. The trackpad has a shiny finish. Realmy keeps the branding low to give users a sophisticated look, which is great. The lid and bottom base are not slightly flexible. The RealMe Book Slim’s Core i3 variant comes with a limited number of ports. It does not have the Thunderbolt 4, but is equipped with a USB 3.2 General 2 Type-C port, USB-A3.1 Gen1 port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The RealMe Book Slim 45,000 price range gets some brownie points for offering a 2K display with 100% sRGB color range. It gives vibrant colors and is good to see more. However, it has a 3: 2 aspect ratio, so one would look at the black bars at the top and bottom, which is not the case with laptops with a standard 16:10 aspect ratio. However, the 3: 2 aspect ratio, which allows for more vertical screen space for viewing and browsing documents, helps to provide a better experience in terms of productivity.

But RealMe chose a glossy display and the screen is very reflective, so you may get annoyed when working in a very bright environment. It is difficult to see the scene when the intense light strikes the panel. Realme Book Slim offers an almost edge-to-edge display, which is great. You will rarely notice laptops with slim bezels in the Rs 45,000 range. Besides, the low brightness levels of the laptop make it a bit harder to work in dim light.

Realme Book Slim Review: Keyboard and Touchpad

Although some Asus laptops do not have the Ergo Lift design, the typing experience on this laptop was even better. The keys are well spaced and have enough space for your palms on either side of the keyboard. The power button to open the laptop also acts as a fingerprint scanner, and it seems to be much faster than the phones that Realmy offers.

The trackpad is large and very responsive. In addition, the keyboard also has a two-level backlight feature, which is useful when working late at night in dim light.

Realme Book Slim Review: General Performance, Battery Life, Software

RealMe BookSlim is powered by 11th General Intel Core i5-1135G7 CPU, Intel Iris Xe graphics, up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 512GB of PCIe SSD storage. I got the Core i3 type for review, which comes with 256GB SSD storage. It is productive enough and will not disappoint the average user with basic needs. This will give you daily performance.

However, the laptop did not respond when I tried to delete more than four high-resolution photos at once. This happened when Chrome opened in the background with more than 34 tabs. This laptop is not for video editing, but you can definitely do photo editing. I did not notice much lag on the go, when opening programs, or when doing multi-tasking. The laptop does not heat up after several hours of use or while charging.

While everything works in the background, files are transferred, and 30 tabs are opened in Chrome, the fan is always quiet on music playing, photo editing and more.

During my use, I got about five hours of battery life with moderate use. I used my laptop to write stories, edit photos, and watch more. The app includes web browsing and audio playback in the background with more than 35 tabs. The brightness levels were often set to 60 percent. But, in your case, the results will vary depending on your application method.

When I got average battery life, the packaged 65W fast charger took less time to top up the battery. It takes the charger one hour and 25 minutes to charge the battery from zero to 100 percent. It should be pointed out that the charger supports 30W DART charging technology so users can quickly charge their RealMe phone or any other compatible device.

Realme Book Slim is shipped out of the box with Windows 10 and the company has confirmed that the device will receive Windows 11 later this year. Not a lot of optimization options. There is a PC connection utility that can be used to transfer files on your phone. It can also be used to check screen reflection and phone notifications. However, this feature is only available on the Realm GT series.

Camera, speakers

Realme Book Slim has a 720p HD webcam that is good enough for video calls or attending your office meetings. Even in slightly dim light it can provide good quality for usable photos or videos.

There are two Harmon speakers, Realmy Claims can provide an amazing surround sound effect. I had a lot of fun listening to music on Spotify and watching serious movies. Speakers provide enough depth, but don’t expect too high quality. For that, you can definitely connect a separate speaker.

Realme Book Slim Review: Should You Buy It?

Currently, Realmy Book Slim Big Billion Days is selling at Rs. Sold for 40,999. It was initially priced at Rs. Introduced for 46,999, which means you get this laptop at a very low price. This is a good deal for those who want to buy a laptop for writing, web browsing and basic office work.

You get a better 2K display, quality build and adequate performance – in a slim package. However, keep in mind that the Core i3 variant only comes with 256GB of SSD storage, which may not be enough for those who do not store data in cloud storage.
