Reliance Brands will buy a 40 per cent stake in Manish Malhotra’s brand

Reliance Brands Limited (RBL) – As part of Reliance Industries’ retail division owned by billionaire Mukesh Ambani, it will acquire a 40 per cent stake in the ‘Manish Malhotra’ brand to accelerate the growth of the 16-year-old Kochhar house in India and around the world. On Friday, October 15, Reliance Brands and Manish Malhotra announced a strategic partnership as part of the deal, ANI News Agency reported.

Reliance Brands founder and creative director Manish Malhotra has signed a firm commitment to invest in the brand – vibrant designs for Indian craftsmanship, dynamic glamor and high quality luxury clothing. This is the first external investment for Manish Malhotra’s brand, which has so far been personally conducted by the designer. Following the partnership with Reliance, the brand will continue to be Managing and Creative Director of Manish Malhotra.

“Our strategic partnership with Manish Malhotra includes his craft and our deep commitment to Indian art and culture. As an entrepreneur, the man behind the brand Manish has always been fast and ahead of his time,” he said. Mrs. Isha Ambani, Director, Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd.

He said Reliance’s “Leading Coach House and Leading Luxury Federation” aims to build an institutional structure that will preserve the legacy of Manish Malhotra for generations.

Reliance has said that the Manish Malhotra brand has significant savings of current and potential consumers in global fashion capitals and is expanding in India and international markets.

In addition to physical retail expansion, it aims to create a technological backbone for the partnership business, creating digital and experienced e-commerce opportunities.
