Record 929 Govt deaths in Russia today

Russia today recorded the highest number of corona virus deaths daily.

Moscow, Russia:

Russia recorded the highest number of daily corona virus deaths on Wednesday because the country is stubbornly struggling with high infection rates and areas beyond Moscow are regaining control of the epidemic.

Russia, the world’s fifth-worst-affected country with more than 7.5 million infections, has seen an increase in cases since August, driven by the infectious delta variant and the sluggish vaccine campaign.

The government has recorded 929 Govt-19 deaths in the last 24 hours, the highest daily virus death in Russia since the outbreak.

Many Russian-made jabs have been available for months, but authorities have struggled to encourage vaccinated-skeptical people to be vaccinated.

Polls show that more than half of Russians do not plan to take the shot.

As of Wednesday, less than 30 percent of Russia’s 146 million people have been fully vaccinated, according to the Kokov website, according to the Kokov-19 data.

Earlier this week, Deputy Prime Minister Tatiana Kolikova said the death toll was higher among unvaccinated Russians.

There have been increasing infections without real epidemic controls to control the spread, but many regions have reintroduced QR codes to access public spaces.

Moscow – the epicenter of the eruption in Russia – has so far stopped bringing back controls.

– ‘Far from the peak’ –

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday that the locks were “absolutely undesirable for any region.”

He poured cold water on nationwide operations, saying the regions were “acting individually.”

In the capital, officials say the highly contagious delta variant is now the cause of all cases.

Speaking at a government meeting on Tuesday, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sofianin said his city was “far from the peak numbers” and that rising infections were often associated with higher diagnostic rates.

Two-thirds of Moscow’s hospital beds are currently occupied by corona virus patients, he said.

In September, Russian President Vladimir Putin, 68, was placed in self-isolation for two weeks after dozens of cases of the corona virus were detected in his inner circle.

Russian officials have been accused of underestimating the severity of the explosion and avoiding introducing restricted new measures after the tight first lockout in 2020.

New deaths bring the total number of deaths from Russia from the corona virus to 212,625 – the highest in Europe.
