New Delhi:

Producers Jersey COVID-19 decided to change the release date of the film in the middle of the spike. Shahid Kapoor, who plays the title role in the film, tweeted on Tuesday evening: “As a team, we consider it prudent to postpone the release considering the current situation and the new Govt guidelines. Jersey. See you soon in 2022 with our picture. Happy and healthy New Year to all. “The film was originally scheduled for release on August 28. However, it was changed due to a corona virus infection. The release date of the film was later changed to December 31. The revised date is not currently released.

Jersey Shows the story of a cricketer who returned to play cricket in his 30s by joining the Indian cricket team. It is a remake of the 2019 Telugu film of the same name. Directed by Gautam Thinnanuri (director of the original film), the film stars Shahid Kapoor’s father Pankaj Kapoor as his mentor and Mrinal Thakur.

The original version of the film Jersey Won two National Awards for Best Telugu Film and Best Editor. Shahid Kapoor last co-starred with Kiara Advani in the 2019 release of Kabir Singh. The film is a remake of the hit Telugu film Arjun Reddy, Played by Vijay Thevarakonda in the lead role.
