Ishant Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav have been named in India’s squad for next month’s T20 World Cup.. Instagram
Suryakumar Yadav and Ishant Kishan have been ruled out of the ongoing UAE leg of the Mumbai Indians’ Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season. Rohit Sharma’s men are seventh in the IPL points table and their equally low performance has had an adverse effect on the team. Former India captains Sunil Gavaskar, Suryakumar Yadav and Ishant Kishan both feel “a little relaxed” after receiving the Indian team’s caps.
“It seems to me that Suryakumar Yadav and Ishant Kishan were a bit relaxed after India won the cap.
“Sometimes what happens is you have to give yourself some time, and you have to get your shot right. And this time I think they missed it, where their shot choice was not right, that’s why they went out cheap.”
Ishant Kishan has so far scored 107 runs in 8 matches at an average of 13.27 – far from last season he has amassed 516 runs for MI in 14 games, averaging 57.33. Poor flow of left-handed player with bat, he lost his place in MI’s playing eleven.
Suryakumar also struggled and although he did not lose his place, his performance was seen as desirable. He has averaged 222 and 56 runs at 18.50 this season. Like many MI stars the right-hander had a tough time in the UAE.
Mumbai Indians will take on Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday. A failure will end any chance they make of the playoffs.
