Cricket, Oman In a move that will provide a great complement to Oman’s talents in the world of cricket [OC] And the England and Wales Cricket Board [ECB] The England cricket team heading to the T20 World Cup has confirmed that it is camping in the Sultanate. The UK camp started on October 5th and will run until October 15th. The ICC T20 World Cup will be held in Oman and the United Arab Emirates between October 17 and November 14, 2021. All the necessary arrangements for training and the life bubble were finalized by the England team.
In an official release, Pankaj Kimji, President of Oman Cricket, said, “We look forward to welcoming the England cricket team and their families !! I hope they will have the opportunity to experience Oman’s culture and hospitality. It’s really fun. Treat them!”
Chris Silverwood, head coach of the England men’s team, said: “The ECB is ensuring a 10-day warm-up camp in Oman before the start of Group 1 matches. This is part of our effort to familiarize the team with the conditions.
England are in Group 1 with Australia, defending champions West Indies and South Africa. The two teams will join from the qualifying round before the start of the main round of the World Cup.
Meanwhile, England all-rounder Sam Curran has been ruled out of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup ahead of the Showbiz event due to a back injury.
According to the ECP, Curran has complained of back pain after the Chennai Super Kings’ Indian Premier League match against Rajasthan Royals on Saturday.
“The scan results revealed the injury. He will be flying back to the UK in the next two days, and a full review from the scan and the ECB’s medical team this weekend will take place,” the ECB said in a statement.
