Chris Silverwood, head coach of the England men’s team, said: “The ECB is ensuring a 10-day warm-up camp in Oman before the start of Group 1 matches. This is part of our effort to familiarize the team with the conditions.

England are in Group 1 with Australia, defending champions West Indies and South Africa. The two teams will join from the qualifying round before the start of the main round of the World Cup.

Meanwhile, England all-rounder Sam Curran has been ruled out of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup ahead of the Showbiz event due to a back injury.


According to the ECP, Curran has complained of back pain after the Chennai Super Kings’ Indian Premier League match against Rajasthan Royals on Saturday.

“The scan results revealed the injury. He will be flying back to the UK in the next two days, and a full review from the scan and the ECB’s medical team this weekend will take place,” the ECB said in a statement.
