“I am pleased to share the overall supply of coal to thermal power plants from all sources, including alCoalIndiaHQ. It recorded over 2 million tonnes yesterday. We are increasing the supply of coal to more power plants to ensure adequate coal availability at power plants,” Joshi tweeted.
According to official sources, Coal India Limited (CIL) has touched 1.62 million tonnes per day for power plants since October 11 and the total output has risen to 1.88 million tonnes per day, compared to an average of 1.75 million tonnes per month.
CIL plans to increase production after Dussehra, when workers return from vacation and increase attendance, sources added.
