There were 6,984 new cases of corona virus reported in India on Wednesday. According to the Federal Ministry of Health, the number of active cases in the country has dropped to 87,562.

The number of active corona virus cases in the country now stands at 0.25 per cent of the total casino, the lowest since March 2020, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate is 98.38 per cent, the highest since March 2020, the ministry said. “The number of active cases is 0.25 per cent of the total positive cases in the country, the lowest since March 2020,” the ministry said.

With the administration of 68,89,025 Kovit-19 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s overall vaccination coverage has crossed 134.61 crore, the Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry, “As per the provisional reports till 7 am today, the coverage of the Govt-19 vaccine in India has crossed 134.61 crore (1,34,61,14,483) through 1,41,10,887 sessions.”

Omigron cases will increase in January across Maharashtra

Additional Chief Secretary Health Dr Pradeep Vyas on Wednesday said that the Omigron variant of Govit-19 would increase the number of cases across Maharashtra in January next year.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Omigran infection is on the rise in the world and patients are being diagnosed in Maharashtra as well.

“These patients can be found not only in big cities but also in small towns. Next month, in January, a large number of people in the state will be affected by Omigran disease,” Vyas said during a presentation at a state cabinet meeting.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Uttam Thackeray has directed all companies to make every effort to provide two-dose vaccines to all. This variant is spreading fast in Maharashtra, with a high number of cases being reported from the state across the country.
