Victory flame held by soldiers and war veterans at Salunge Vihar

As part of the month-long Swarnim Vijay Warsh celebrations in Pune, the Victory Flame was taken to Salunge Vihar on Tuesday, where a large number of soldiers and 1971 Indo-Pakistani war veterans lived in the area.

At the beginning of the flame were received by Lieutenant General (Retd.) Pandit BD, Colonel (Retd.) Salunge S. Palwant and Brig Arun Haroligar’s wife Jaya Haroligar. The event was attended by several soldiers, Veer Norris and Army officers, who lit the flame during the ceremony in their honor.

The flame was lit in the residential area before being held in the community hall, where a cultural event was organized by the residents.

To mark the 50th anniversary of the Indian Army’s victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war, celebrations across the country began on December 16 last year, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi lighting four victory flames in four directions.

On October 1, the flame was warmly welcomed by the army and civilians of Pune.
