Virat Kohli’s last match as captain in the Indian Premier League (IPL) ended in defeat to the Kolkata Knight Riders. Kohli had announced that IPL 2021 would be his last season as RCB captain and had already revealed that he would step down as captain of the Indian team in the short form of the game after the upcoming T20 World Cup. After the defeat to KKR, Kohli said that I have given my 120 per cent lead every year in the IPL.

“I tried my best to create a culture where youngsters could come and play open cricket and trust. This is something I did at the Indian team level. I did what I could. I do not know how the answer is. Yes, I will do it now as a player, “said Kohli in a post-match presentation.

“Yes, I do not see myself playing anywhere else. Faith is more important to me than anything else in the world view. I will get the right until the last day until I play in the IPL,” Kohli signed.

R.C.P. Bangalore-based owners, who took four wickets for 21 runs, controlled just 138/7 in their allotted 20 overs.

With two balls to spare, KKR will advance to the final against Delhi Capitals on Wednesday with two balls to spare.
