Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was a “coward” and “scared” of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who was not allowed to go to Lakhimpur Gari after the violence, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupathi Bagel said on Sunday.
Bagel said he was referring to Priyanka’s detention in Sitapur following the violence that killed eight people, including four farmers, last Sunday.
Addressing the party’s “Kisan Nai Rally” in Varanasi, he slammed the BJP, which divides the people in the name of religion as “learned from the British”.
Targeting Adityanath, Bagel said he had heard and believed, but the yogi proved to be a “big coward”.
“He was a coward. He was scared to look at a woman named Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. He did not allow her to go to Lakhimpur Gari and kept her in jail for four days.
“When I reached Lucknow from Raipur, I was not allowed to leave the airport. When I was told that I wanted to go to the UP Congress office and meet Priyanka Gandhi, I was told that I could not go outside the airport. Such a cowardly and timid person, I did not see,” Said Bagel.
Bagel said Yogiji had come to Chhattisgarh several times to sharpen his attack, but they never stopped him.
I now tell him to come to Chhattisgarh. But, with what face will he come to Chhattisgarh? He had said that the income of farmers would double but this did not happen, ”the chief minister said.
“But our leader Ragulji went to Chhattisgarh and promised that farmers would be paid Rs 2,500 per quintal of paddy. said.
“The RSS and Savarkar act as intellectuals of the British. On the other hand, Mahatma Gandhiji (Jawaharlal Nehru) and Sardar Patelji, who fought for the peasantry, also fought for the peasantry,” he said.
“They (BJP) know how to fight the people in the name of religion and this divisive nature they have learned from the British. It has been going on since the freedom struggle,” he alleged.
On the issue of stray cattle, Bagal alleged that the BJP was asking for a vote in the name of “Kaumata” but did nothing for it.
“In Chhattisgarh, we buy cow dung for Rs 2 per kg and make vermicompost from it,” he said.
